Ello,
Question for the PC experts.
My HDD is 230gb capacity (old ish PC)
My data - pics/vids etc is 140gb
Yet my HDD is saying it can only store a further 8gb
Whats going to be taking up 80 ish gigabytes ? I have literally nothing on it, no games just itunes and firefox!
Recycle bin?
What operating system?
Lots of fragmented files?
Our PCs use about 40GB just on operating system and installed programs alone. Presuming you are using a Windows OS, you can view how much space each folder is using by right clicking it in Explorer and choosing Properties.
Open My Computer, review what drives are present, including "total" and "free" space.
Right click My Computer, go to Manage, select Disk Management. Check how your disk is partitioned.
Report back with what you find.
you can view how much space each folder is using by right clicking it in Explorer and choosing Properties.

This is a useful tool for checking folder sizes to see what's using HDD space....

Ah not quick enough 🙂
I have literally nothing on it, no games just itunes
Place your bets... (-:
System restore points, possibly.
Might be worth seeking out CCleaner, which can be used to delete these.
Need some more disk space? I'm sure the BOFH can help....
