Says it completed but some files were skipped, when I click to see the details of which files, it tells me this <below>, which makes no sense so not sure what action to take to get the backup to complete.
It means the flag in the system tray shows my backup as not complete, rather than only popping up every month as a reminder, as per my settings.
How can I fix this?
Cheers?

What is this 'back up' you speak of, that to me would be copying all your documents to a usb stick. Or a new folder on the c drive (or both), and doing a windows reinstall.

why are you backing up ?
If it's just so you don't lose your docs, photos, music etc then just check the list of "fails" and make sure they're not in there (better still, have a look whereevr the backup is located and check that they ARE in there.

The failures all look like fairly dynamic (ie, changing) data; files that were there when it catalogued the directory have gone by the time the copy takes place. It's probably just temporary data.

I'd hazard the short answer is to ignore it. If you don't use the computer whilst the backup runs (ie, run it overnight) then that will probably work around the problem as well.
