Ooops- I sent money to the wrong address. Is there a simple way to cancel it and thus keep my £26.50, or at least as much of it as I can?

I sent the payment to the wrong email address? What should I do?

If you paid the wrong email address, you may be able to cancel the payment if its status is Unclaimed.

Log in to your PayPal account
Go to your History page
Click the transaction in question
If its status is Unclaimed, click Cancel in the Order Status/Actions column.
Click Cancel Payment.

Note: You can only cancel an Unclaimed payment that has a Cancel button. If there is no Cancel button, the unclaimed transaction will be automatically cancelled in 30 days.

If the payment was claimed, you should request a refund from the recipient. If they are unsure how to refund you, ask them to go to their Transaction History and use the Issue Refund link to issue your refund.

I sent money to the wrong email address but the payment is completed. What do I do?

PayPal cannot reverse payments that have been claimed. We recommend that you contact your recipient directly and make arrangements to have the money refunded to you via PayPal or another method of your choosing.
