Sold a reverb post a week or so ago, described as working but with a bit of sag when sat on.
Got an email today from paypal saying payment suspended as the buyer isn't happy.
He states the post doesn't go up and down like it should and would like a refund.
I sold it via pinkbike and noticed the guy has recently joined it and has not looked at my messages I sent asking to let me know once the post got there etc, the post definitely went up and down when I sent it.
What worries me is its took him days to after receiving it to complain, and I can't help but think hes had a go at sorting the sag out and buggered it up.
I ve offered him a full refund once the post is back here, but not had a reply as yet.
Anyone have any experience or advice in these situations?
Ive sold thousands of pounds of stuff over the years and like to think I'm a trusted seller but can't help thinking he's taking the p###.
Good to see you found the chat page, why not moan on PB rather than here? anyhow.
Keep all coms through Paypal, He probably is either swapping your post for his more knackered one. Or seeking a partial refund to get post cheaper or he broke it as you mention or you did indeed sell him a duff post.
If you've already offered the refund, I imagine he'll take you up on the offer if he's done what you think. So not much you can do.
Did you note the serial number etc before you sent it off? Will you be able to spot it if you get sent his duff one instead of yours?
No seatpost = no refund, why should you be out of pocket and without the original item?
I am having similar issues with a guy who bought a Rear mech and shifter off me on Pinkbike.
He is in Denmark and postage has been about ten days now and still no got there he admitted something from Germany took 3 weeks.
He is pestering me constantly for updates which he has access too since I gave him the code, now he says it was for his wifes bike and he wanted it finished by the end of next week, so is there any way of cancelling it and getting a refund.
Erm no since it is literally somewhere between the UK and Denmark and he got them for a great price, maybe if he wanted them quicker he should not have ordered from someone in the UK.
These people seem to think pinkbike classifieds is like buying from a shop, you get all the benefits of returns, gurantees etc but is way cheaper.
bruneep more adult chat over here, suppose I'll have to suck it up.
Hopefully I will spot something fishy and I do have his address lol
You've offered him a refund, he can send it back or not. If he does, inspect it to see if he's bollocksed it; if he doesn't, meh, his loss.
I expect one of two outcomes:
1) Can you refund me and I'll throw it away rather than sending it back?
2) How about you knock off 30% and we'll call it straight?
No seatpost = no refund
You haven’t actually been paid for it yet though have you ?
Unless I am not understanding what this means.....
Got an email today from paypal saying payment suspended as the buyer isn’t happy.
Looks like if he doesn’t send it back, you don’t get paid anyway?
Do you even have a choice at this stage.
