2 weeks ago i took out an annual subscription to rouvy and they didn't apply my loyalty discount. I had paid with paypal. Messaged rouvy and they apologised and said they would sort it. I looks like they have then refunded the annual fee (£165), then deducted the annual fee again (£165) and then re-credited me with the loyalty fee (£25). If i look in paypal activity log it shows two transactions -£165 and + £25. Which is correct. But my bank account just has -£165 and another -£165, so i'm down £330 i cant really afford.
Its been over a week now and navigating the paypal help is a nightmare and just points me at their FAQ or directrs me towards the seller (rouvy).
Any ideas? Just be patient and it will wash through?
Refunds, (well all transactions actually) tend to be almost with my Monzo account. Old skool NatWest - not so much. The delay might be at the bank. It would be worth ringing and asking them if any incoming funds are, er, 'resting' in their system, (and earning them interest in the mean time!)
As above, I think it is down to your bank. I had similar and it took a while but did eventually get there.
Stop using PayPal. It offers no benefits over just using your debit or credit card online, and if using your credit card you will lose section 75 protection. They are also an asshole to deal with if you need any customer support.
I quite like PayPal. Saves me typing my card details into ship loads of web pages or saving them with multiple vendors, feels more secure but of course I could be wrong about that.
And I'm one of those weirdos who doesn't use a credit card.
