So what to do next?
I ordered some stuff on 6 Aug from Biketart .. most importantly an end-cap for a 350 to use the HG and some lube to make it up to £20 - apparently this got automatically cancelled and payment not taken... so 7 Aug I check and order again.
So lube arrives so I get back... it's on it's way... then another email "sorry it's on its way" .. then another "sorry it's delayed would you like the lube first" - to which I say it was delivered 2 weeks ago - when can I get the end-cap...
Then Thursday "Apologies for the delay, This is on the way to us and will be sent out on a priority tracked delivery for you, "
Oh great...
then I check my "orders" this morning at 9am and it's cancelled. - No email or anything I have to log into Biketart and check... so I send an email (from a ferry) asking them to confirm and nothing but radio silence.. Paypal still shows they took the money 7th Aug and my account still shows an invoice for the full amount.
So should I just order from Germany.. put it down to bad luck and write off the £17 or start a PayPal dispute ? I got a lovely set of wheels I can't actually ride (once I give my mate back his XD cassette tomorrow) and no confirmation of if its cancelled or not..
Biketart have been really hit and miss for me.
I've ordered stuff that's arrived fine, and a few times recently I've ordered to be told they've got something wrong and it's not in stock.
Hope to see my little bits from them next week. Fingers crossed. Ordered on Tuesday and seem a little sluggish, but not had any paypal payment issues with them. Mine was a DT end cap for a hub and made up to £20 with some lube , so similar value.
Any chance you have a HG endcap and want a XD ??
I just want to ride my new wheels ...

and a few times recently I’ve ordered to be told they’ve got something wrong and it’s not in stock
Yeah that's not great (ala Tredz)... but in this case it's been a "it's in our warehouse"
"we are going to give you priority deliver"... then sod all... so I checked the My Account bit and its just cancelled... they even thought they hadn't delivered the lube... total confusion..
I have a QR drive side end cap and need a 12mm version, which is what I have ordered Steve.
I've had good and bad from them, they are pretty local to me and in person they are great. They messed me around a lot on demoing an Ibis which I bought elsewhere easily.
In their defense they are in quite a remote location and have power problems regularly. Twice in the past I've gone to the shop and they have had power cuts and can't do much.
then sod all… so I checked the My Account bit and its just cancelled…
Oh yeah, I've had that twice before too.

So, I'm still waiting to see whats happening with that...still no reply.
Meanwhile I ordered the wrong forks from R2 in Germany (totally my fault) and sent them an email ... they stopped the shipping and updated the order and THEN restarted the shipping with the correct fork and asked me to pay the Euro 12.55 difference.... all done.
I've had very mixed results with them. They seemed great before COVID kicked off, but since then I've had two buggered up refunds that I had to keep chasing, and really crap responses when I made enquiries about a bike I was ready to put a deposit on, which ultimately cost them a sale as I went elsewhere.
My assumption is that staffing and service have been severely affected by CovID, which is a real shame as I previously had nothing but good things to say about them.
They've been good & quick for me in the past. I did have an issue recently, I ordered a pair of shoes, but only one arrived in the box, I phoned them and spoke to someone, I returned the shoe, the refund took just over a week from the shoe arriving with them & another phone call was required. Have you phoned them? They were helpful on the blower.

Earlier in what now seems like a saga....
I guess I should if only to found out if they intend to ever ship or refund me so I can order elsewhere.
I emailed again yesterday asking them if its actually cancelled and if so do they intend to refund me and how much. I don't want to be charged for the postage on the lube I didn't really need anyway.
Yep well ... good idea to call and it had been cancelled and they had forgotten to inform me or refund.
I got told to reorder so had to pay postage ... which they refunded after I called back 1/2 hour later... but now downgraded from priority to standard delivery and not expected until nearly a month after my first order....
I wish I'd not bothered trying to support local businesses now and just ordered from Germany to start off..
The Race is on ... the next day I took a punt with Tredz for a RSP Better Boost... based on a "in stock at suppliers" and so far Tredz shipped first... despite Biketart saying it's in their warehouse and on its way to dispatch over 2 weeks ago.
Biketart are still looking at under 1 month if it arrives before the 6th Sept so I'm waiting with Baited breath.
Sorry to say that although Biketart seemed a little slower than the usual suspects, my parts arrived at the time they said it would after a couple of days of radio silence. Not the quickest and not used them before but was cheaper and in stock for what I was after.

I'd used them before and been very happy...
Funnily enough that seems to have been how the saga started.. I ordered 6th Aug..tried to pay through paypal and then because I'd used them before and had an account needed the password. Being away I had to reset then this somehow cancelled the order which I only found out about calling them the next day to see if I could change address ... to which I was just told "it was cancelled" (thanks for letting me know)
Ordered again (now 7th) and went through numerous communications the last being "sorry about the delay, it's being rushed to you now on priority" .. cool... so after 2 days checked the account login to which it said "cancelled" ... given they had already sent 1/2 the items I didn't know what that meant.. had they cancelled as 1/2 the order was fulfilled? (by now best part of a month has gone by)
No response to email... phoned them and they told me it was cancelled "automatically" - order gain .. pay postage (again) then call and we'll refund the postage.
FFS... if you cancel and order "automatically" surely you send an email "automatically"?
Very annoying as the reasons I bought from them were because it was in stock and because they were local and quick delivery. I could have got this from bike24 within less than a week...cheaper.
Amazingly even Tredz delivered faster with a day's lag on ordering and with no claim to be in stock at warehouse. Both arrived in the same post yesterday... and technically the Tredz one went through the postbox 1st...
