My PayPal account has been hacked

Fortunately it seems the assailant has not been too greedy, and only helped themselves to £30. Could have been much worse I suppose!

Anyone else had theirs hacked and got any positive stories of getting the money back for me?

My work one was a while back, someone bought two ipads and did a click and collect from Argos within an hour so they got away with the goods but paypal were really good when I reported it, got all the money back within 24 hours. Obviously had to change password, security questions etc

I have mine set up with 2factor authentication (sms pincode). I recommend everyone do the same.

Yeah, years ago someone swiped £400 from me, but PayPal sorted it out. It took longer than 24hrs to get the money back into my bank account, but it was pretty quick.

Good to hear, cheers guys.

The amusing thing is that the purchase was for £30 on "wheregirlsfindguys.com"... Clearly as a 34 year old bloke in a stable (heterosexual) relationship, that's the kind of websites I'd frequent a lot! 🙄

The fact it doesn't even exist is by the by...

Anyway... The assailant's email address and mobile phone number are listed in the purchase details... Resisting the temptation to be childish currently, but am tempted to find out where they are and order £20 Pizza's to their front door!

I couldn't resist finding out where they are and dispensing some "justice".

Go for it - it'll be fun!
