Have a need for some but not much mobile data on my iPad; would rather not do this by contract.
Had a 24Gb/24m Vodafone PAYG SIM that has just run out just under the two year mark. Anyone know of any good deals?
Don't know if it's the best deal, but Amazon currently has Three prepaid 24GB data SIMs that last up to 24 months, for £34.99... Roughly price I've paid for 5+ years.

I don't think I've seen any long term plans like that for a long time.
Longest I can remember getting was a 90day one from EE, but that was a couple years ago.
Longest I can find with a quick search is O2 have 12/20GB 12 month deals at £60/75.
If you want adhoc usage, GiffGaff is one of the easiest options, provided you get coverage (they use o2's network), but I don't think they do long term options, just monthly.
IIRC Smartie use Vodafone's network (or it might be EE's...) and are comparable to GiffGaff in terms of options.
What I personally like about GiffGaff, is their options are pretty transparent, and easy to change.
Monthly recurring, or non-recurring. If you run out of data early on either, you can easily buy more data, or if on the monthly option, just start the next months data early.
It's just far easier to manage than my o2 and Vodafone sims, who seem to want you to jump through endless hoops to change anything.
Forgot to mention, if you have a normal mobile sim, can you swap it to a multi-sim contract and share data?
Tether it to your phone?
Got my youngest a Smarty Sim for her Christmas mobile, when I was setting it up Data only was an option, it's just a rolling monthly charge you can cancel or chop and change deals as you require.
Tethering is one way to go.
I’ll have a look at those 3 SIMs - thanks!
Not sure if O2 will sell me a second SIM on my phone contract…
If you get a SIM from Giffgaff you can buy an amount of data for a month then it reverts to PAYG. £6 gets you 1 gig, £8 3 gig etc up to unlimited.
If you set up a rolling payment then £6 buys you 3gig a month. Again you can cancel any time although you do pay each month up front.
With most of these ask someone on the network to get a SIM posted to you and you share a bit of cashback credit.
Edit: if network matters then I think Smarty is on the 3 network and Giffgaff on O2 network.
Using your phone as a hotspot is an option, but it usually drains your phone battery pretty quick.
Take a look at Sky PAYG sim.
Any data you don't use each month gets saved to a 'piggy bank' for 3 years.
I started on a 12gb per month sim and saved so much data as I'm working from home now that I've dropped to a 2gb and add extra data from the bank as needed.
As a PAYG mobile user that 3 Data Sim is what I am looking for as I don't use a lot of data. £25 for 24GB for 2 years is fine for me.
I don't like the 30 or 90 days expiry.
Smarty have 24gb for £8 or 30gb for a tenner, on a rolling monthly contract... IIRC they are EE under the covers. My youth has one in her mobile seems decent.
Aye, but £8/m for 24Gb/m is rather a lot more than £40 once for 24Gb expiring in two years, which is what I paid Vodafone way back when.

Sorry, I've completely misread that!!!
