I guess I misjudged her, I always thought it was just some overwrought pop music nonsense. I totally overlooked the whole Satanic worship thing. Glad I've been corrected.

I must be out of the loop too. The Satanic worship thing? Are you saying Pat Benatar worships Satan or Satan worships Pat Benatar?
Ted Cruz appears to be all fired up.
Too hot to get my coat ...

Maybe he just thinks Biden singing karaoke versions of love is a battlefield are likely to be treasonous?
Still, I imagine those inclined to dislike Biden will agree and think cruz hit him with his best shot.

Surely everybody worships her?
I'd never admit it public but Love is a Battlefield is one of my weird 80's likes.
Of all the artists to pick as an example, that's just bizarre. Amazing how the human brain works under pressure, eh Teddy boy?
I knew that 'Hell is for Children' must have been even darker than it seemed (and it's pretty dark anyway), quite apart from being a very odd homage to Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath.
Ditto.
For those like me who out of the loop

"Speaking disrespectfully of Pat Benatar is one step too far Ted Cruz! You sir, have lost my vote," writer Mark Allen tweeted about the clip.
Some people, including comic book illustrator Darick Robertson, speculated that Cruz latched onto Benatar's name due to the singer's 1980 hit, "Hell Is for Children."
"He was probably thinking of 'Hell is for Children,' which, if he'd actually listened to the song, is anti-child abuse. But who cares about facts?" Robertson tweeted.
"There are so many black metal bands Ted Cruz could have used here, and yet his idea of satanic music is ... Pat Benatar," another Twitter user said.
I read about this on Flipboard the other day, and like several other people have said, “Pat Benatar? What the whatting heck are these halfwits on about now?”
If it’s anything to do with Biden, then it’s automatically linked to the Extreme Left, libs and everything the RepubliKKKan Fascist Right is terrified of.
I won’t hear anything against Ms Benatar, “Love Is A Battlefield” is a great pop tune, and she’s a great singer. And if it gets a new generation of people listening to her music, then I’m all for it.
“That’s fighting talk Ted, put up your dukes, let’s get down to it” responded Pat
There isn't enough Pat on this thread

Good work!

I assume this is "weird 80s" like eerie idiana*, as there's nothing weird about liking love is a battlefield.
*which turns out to be 90s.

Good work there 👏😉
Imagine being such an absolute flavourless absence of anything that the most extreme and awful musician you can imagine to be linked with is Pat Benatar. Not even Slayer or some other Tipper Gore vanilla idea of hardcore and evil
