We've got a 14 plate VW Polo match, 3 Dr. It has a passenger airbag, but doesn't have the key switch to deactivate it. In the manual it states that some models have to have the airbag switched off by a qualified mechanic, fair enough. But we've just been in the local dealership and they say they have never had one in before then denied all knowledge of being able to do it all, saying it will invalidate it insurance.
Anyone any experience of this? I know it's recommended to put baby rear facing on the back seat, but for convenience it would be handy to pop her on the passenger seat from time to time.
Does the airbag have its own fuse that you can pull?
My wifes 16 plate Focus has the same. The option to turn off the airbag is an extra.
Kids are in the back, no choice.
