You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I use an app on my phone to pay for parking in the local car parks. On Saturday I got a ticket but didn't worry about it as I knew I had paid for my parking. I have just printed out my receipt to post off with a polite letter telling them to shove it and realised that when using the app I had paid for my old cars registration by mistake.
Anyone done this and got out of the ticket? Am I wasting my time writing letters and providing evidence?
What would STW do?
In my experience, no you are not wasting your time.
If you have the evidence then they will revoke the PCN. Its pretty painless.
Usually you can do this online in a matter of minutes.
What app? where were you? on street/off street? borough?
Last time i got a PCN, it was legally correct - i had paid for the car on my drive, rather than the one I left in the car park. I told the council and within a few minutes PCN gone.
Who's the issuer? Council (or on their behalf) or private?
Council I believe
If you demonstrate they didn't lose any revenue (you paid for a space) then usually they're cool about it.
But it's worth mentioning that they didn't lose revenue in your letter. I've gotten out of one this way.
