I'm planning a canoe trip down the Tay, from Killin to Perth, and am looking for somewhere near the river in Perth to leave two cars from about 4:30 on Thursday until sometime Monday afternoon. JustPark is offering Victoria Street Retail Park at £24 per car. Any other suggestions, please?

Can't comment on the prices but the North and South Inch parks are pretty much on the river
EDIT - you might want to see if you can leave your cars at the fishery under the Friarton Bridge. It's just past Perth but you'll be able to leave the cars right next to the river
Willowgate fishery
and Perth Sailing Club perthsailingclub.org.uk might also help you out

Free on street parking here - https://goo.gl/maps/H8nXEjdva2UjPNbD6
It's outside a pub which is currently closed, so shouldn't upset any locals.
And it's a safe location.

Edit - Willowgate Fishery is a good call, as is the sailing/rowing club just a bit further along.

Broxden park and ride is free for 72hrs so speed up a wee bit, should be easy as there are no uphill bits, might be a few white water bits too

The East side of the river has a few good size residential streets and only a few minutes walk.

I can give you a few pointers as to lovely spots on the way down the Loch particularly - secret waterfalls, 'crystal beach', deserted villages etc.

Edit: and of course *that* castle and cave

Thanks, all. Looking into all these. It will be low tide when we expect to reach Perth, will that mean it's muddy downstream at Willowgate? Are there many places to get a boat out of the river on the East bank by the bridges - I'm guessing the causeway to Moncrieffe Island would work, and it's close to Manse Rd as mentioned by oldtennisshoes?

You can park in Asda / McDonald's car park for pretty much as long as you want. We left a car there for 10 days once with no problem.

Theres a road just off muirton Bank up from Bells Sports centre that runs down to the North Inch that the parking is free. Pretty sure Asda Mcdonalds car park has a 3 hour limit

When we did the Tay Descent, we left the car on Shore Road, and got out on a slipway just after the CEMEX plant. The watersports club are there too, so no problem using it to egress.
I was a bit doubtful about leaving the car there, it's pretty quiet at night in that area, but a guy at the Club said there wouldnt be a problem leaving it on the road. There are also parking places on the small industrial estate, where you may be able to get a place for the weekend. Ring up Perth Watersports Club to see where they recommend.

Excellent timing as last night I booked a night at the Premier Inn and if I can't get into a limited area then it looks a nightmare trying to get over night parking. The car park in the centre has got a few bad reviews about getting fines.

Thanks all. Parked in the road suggested by beinbhan, no problems. At the Killin end, parked at the hall, walked 50m to the shop and asked about the launch point, gave them a donation and they said we could unload at the slip. Good run down the loch with a F4/5 tailwind, think we found the waterfall, Matt, and some other nice spots - two very nice camp sites on the loch, a rather rough tree covered island about 2km below Grandtully (but very sheltered which is what we needed that night) and a grassy island where the river turns briefly North after Caputh. A little adventure below Stanley after one of our boats pinned, but all safe in the end, just one lost drybag and some creases in the boat, overall a great trip.
