Planning to come down to London for the day to take the kids to the natural history museum and have a wonder around.
I was hoping to come down the M1 and then park and catch the tube in to the centre.
Any recommendations for where to park.
Cheers
tube are on strike tomorrow and thursday
Arse, that right messes up my plans, thanks for the heads up.
But Stanmore Tube should feature in your plans in the future.
Drive to somewhere where you can get a train to Paddington. Walk through Hyde park to the natural history museum. Have fun, go home. Sorted! 🙂
Drive round to the west Drayton/ Hayes / Southall sailing Paddington line.

first great western are also striking https://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/strike
Sailing line? Sounds nice! 🙂
like the look of Stanmore, might just have to change the day.
sailing might be the best option given the lack of tube/train
West finchely tube station
I drove into Kensington recently, parked in the council car park and walked to the museum from there, was around a 15/20 minute walk.
Parking was around £29 for under 6 hours, and although you can spend longer in the museum it was so hot and packed we had enough after a while.
The shopping centre at Stratford is my preferred choice 15 mins off the bottom of the M11 an all day 24 hr parking for a tenner last time I used it. Good transport links into the city too as its built next to the station.
Come off M1 at penultimate exit - prob marked Mill Hill/Finchely.
Turn left at first lights on to Holders Hill Road. Park near the roundabout as most streets are non parking restricted.
From here you are 5 mins walk to Mill Hill East tube and maybe 10 mins walk to Finchley Central.
Both stations in the Northern Line.
I park around there daily to ride to work.
