Looking to do the whole route in 3 days (on foot, yes I know it’s not all rideable!) in a month or so, and just booked the 2 nights accommodation.

We are semi-local to around half way, so intending to drop a car in the Bath area the day before, and then collect the other car from Chipping Campden the day after finishing.

Looking for the best options for parking for about 4 days in both locations, and my Google skillz are letting me down. So far looking like the multi storey in Bath (bit pricey but a solid option) and potentially a backstreet in CC (at the potential wrath of the locals). It will be an early start on the first day as well, so a residential street is possible but looking for any other options as well.

For Bath take a look at Brassmill Lane, the end towards the Bath Marina Carvan Site should be fine for a few days.

Calf Lane/George Lane in CC should be okay, that's where MrsIHN parked when she ran the Cotswold Way the other year. She parked there on the Friday morning, I picked the car up on the Saturday afternoon, no issues

You could try Weston Park East in Bath; https://w3w.co/rarely.flames.quarrel

This 3 word address refers to an exact 3m x 3m location. Tap the link or enter the 3 words into the free what3words app to find it.

I often park up there when I go into Bath, I don’t think there are any parking restrictions further up the road. Brassmill Lane might be the better bet, though, as it’s on the Sustrans Route to Bristol.

3 days is hardcore. I did it 2 years ago with a mate over 5 days and they were 5 full on days. We were camping and cooking for ourselves so carrying big packs, it might be a bit easier if you are staying in hotels/b&bs and carrying a lighter pack. Even though I've done a load of long distance paths, I underestimated the Cotswold way a bit. It's very up and down with some big old climbs especially in the middle section, over 4000m of ascent. Good luck!

Thanks all for the locations- will have a quick check of google maps (and maybe a road ride over to CC next week for a scout around).

@blokeuptheroad it’s not going to be a jolly for me- my wife is the ultra runner in the house, I just tag along! Last year we did the tour du Mont Blanc in similar style in 4.5 days, so hoping this is comparable!

Fair enough and big respect, you are both obviously way fitter than me. Hope it goes well 👍

I think I would ask one of the pubs in Chipping Campden if they mind you parking in their car park. Other than that you may be able to park in "back ends" for a long time. One other option may be to ask Cutts of Campden garage, the owner Nick Cutts is a mountain/road biker & could be helpful with parking or some more sensible suggestions than mine.

Aye doing the whole thing in 3 days, oof.

Agree with Bath recommendation but you can also park overnight in the Newbridge Park & Ride. If you want to do the whole thing you can head the 2-3 miles back into the city along the river, or you can cut off the first corner by heading straight up Penn Hill Road, depends how important doing all the miles is. Similarly the National Trust car park at Dover's Hill doesn't have a barrier and is ~1 mile from the start/end of the Way at CC.

C Campden normally ok for parking spots..
Enjoy the walk / run!
