Parking Car up for a week near Koblenz?

A long shot, but does anyone know/have experience of visiting Koblenz in Germany and parking their car somewhere in the city/nearby for multiple days?

Next weekend me and a mate are due to to head out there to start a multi day bike trip (stopping in hotels on the way) down to Munich. We were hoping to go via EuroStar and trains the other side of Brussels, but it turns out booking a bike on to the EuroStar is a real pain in the arse. Looking like driving there is the best option, but does mean i have to leave the car in Koblenz for a week (i'll return there via train after a few days in Munich).

Most sensible option looks to be to pony up for extended parking at the train station: 100 Euros, which isn't too bad the more i think about it.

Does anyone have any better (cheaper!) ideas or horror stories of using german train station carparks for extended periods? My car is completely normal and i'm not too precious about it, so not so worried about the security aspect...more thinking of the inconvenience of getting back to it to find it on bricks or not there at all as it's been towed away!

Cheers

German railway station car parks are usually fine, but I'd be more inclined to park at a park and ride or regional airport, tbh. Will be cheaper (if not free!), and more likely to be more secure. Supermarket car parks are a no-no, residential streets often fine as long as they're not permit-only.

Don't forget your V5 as you'll need to pop in to a TÜV station for a green sticker.

There is no clean air zone in Koblenz so you won't need a sticker. But even so I would be tempted to park up along the rhine

True, but I don't know which direction he's coming from and whether or not he'll nip in to a Rewe just off the autobahn and accidentally drop into an umweltzone. For the sake of a few euro it's not worth not getting one, tbh.

Thanks both.

I'll have a closer look later, but does anyone know if there's a decent resource online listing possible park and rides and any useful info/stipulations?

i looked into one yesterday south of the city by the sports stadium, but lots of reviews said they'd returned within the day to find their car had been towed to make way for events etc. Leading me to think Park and Ride places might not be so suitable for a week or so. TBF that one might be a one off because of its location near the stadium.

Any further info would be gratefully recieved.

P.S - its likely to be a straight in, straight out job in the direction of Calais so not expecting to need the green sticker.

Possibly not helpful but I did a similar thing when we toured around the Loire in France. I paid to park on the campsite in the town we started from (we had camped there on arrival). Cost about 60 euro for a week and was all legit with the campsite. I could have parked on the street but it was def worth it for piece of mind as it was behind the barrier etc

Bikes in bike boxes shouldn't be a problem on Eurostar. Have seen a few films taking their packaged bikes on at Paris.

Otherwise, if you are driving, have a look on park4night. Good source for free local parking.

Or just stick "kostenlose Parkplätze Koblenz" into Google maps. Lots comes up. (Parkplatz Europa Brücke, zum Beispiel.)

Depend exactly how close you want to start to Koblenz, with the extensive cycle paths in you could park at Hahn airport which was pretty cheap last time I went there, and cycle across from there to the Rhine to join up with your intended route.

The Trains run alongside the Rhine there, so St Goar or Bingen would be good places to ride to/from Hahn airport, or from there you could ride to Cochem to start, and then train to one of my first suggestion and ride back to Hahn to end.

There is unfortunately no train station in Hahn.
