It’s been a while since I used to park regularly at St George’s but I can tell you it was a PITA and I’m sure it hasn’t improved.
Depending on where you are coming from, I’d probably park somewhere further out - South Wimbledon / Morden and catch the Northern Line to Tooting Bec.
I used to park on Blackshaw road next to the cemetery- metered but always space when I went (for work).
Sorry to hear that OP, hope all ok. I had to visit last October and the one time I drove we parked at the main car park off Blackshaw Rd, not loads of space but there were free spots when you first enter and we were there at visiting time. As said if it's there is on street parking north on Blackshaw Rd opposite the cemetery.
