You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Travelling down from Yorkshire and (as there are three of us) I am assuming it will be cheaper to drive and then get overground/underground into the centre - where is best (price and convenience from M1/M25).
Cheers
Where are you going and when? Driving in can actually be quicker and easier at certain times.
As above it depends. On a Sunday you can drive quite far in and park in the street pretty easily. 8am on a Monday is a different game.
Going on a Wednesday for a meeting (11am) which is – I believe, still TBC – right in the centre by Oxford Circus
Park free on street between Travel Lodge and Ace Cafe, just off North Circular near M1.Then train from Stonebridge Park.
M1 takes you virtually to Stanmore station, which is on the Jubilee line.
You can get all the way into town from there (changing at Wembley Park to the Met Line if there's a train due usually speeds things up, as there's less stops on the Met line - just stick your head out at Wembley to see if there's a train due on the screens, then wander across the platform).
There's a large car park at Stanmore station.
Stanmore is quite a way out though (zone 6), so check the tube journey time on the tfl planner & look for engineering works too.
Just found out it's Harrow we are going to
That takes ages on the tube.
I'd probably park at Luton station (£4.90 for the day), trains to St Pancras take 25 mins if you get the couple of quick ones per hour, else 35 mins. If you're not needing to be there till 11, you can get a train after 9 and go off-peak. Two tube stops on the Victoria line gets you to Oxford Circus.
Just drive all the way and park when you get there, then. EDIT - It's about 25 mins from the bottom of the M1, if that....
Whereabouts in Harrow? I grew up in Wembley, so I know Harrow quite well.
If it's near the 'town centre' there are some large shopping centre car parks. If it's somewhere a bit further away from the centre, then probably best to look on Streetview or something for local parking restrictions, as there are a lot of permit only parking areas in Harrow.
Harrow? Scratch that then, just drive there.
Stumpy - it's on Lowlands Road

Stumpy - it's on Lowlands Road
So right behind Harrow-on-the-Hill tube station.
If it were me, I'd drive from the M1 to Harrow and park in St Ann's (shopping centre) car park.
When you get to the bottom of the escalator in St Anns from the car park (via the food hall bit), don't walk towards the shops but turn around and go out of St Anns up the sloping bit.
Look on Google maps....This will take you onto College road with the station right in front of you and the bus station to your right.
You can walk all the way through the station to a small access road that leads straight onto Lowlands Rd. It's <5mins from St Anns car park and Lowlands Rd isn't that long, so you should find the building you need easy enough. Google Streetview makes it fairly clear.
I think St Anns parking charges are fairly reasonable.
To get to Harrow, I'd come off at junction 4 of the M1 and follow the A41 to the roundabout.
Go right here onto the A410. You'll go past Stanmore station that I mentioned in my original post. Follow this straight until you get to the A409 and go left at the roundabout. Follow this road into Harrow until you get to Greenhill Way. Go down here for St Ann's shopping centre car park.
I've just done a quick route on Google Maps. If you put "St Ann's shopping centre, Harrow" in, it will take you to the pedestrian entrance, but if you put in "St Ann's shopping centre car park, Harrow" it actually takes you right to the car park entrance. There's a funny one way bit that you can end up going round and round in if you aren't careful!
Thank you very much - very helpful.
Pint for stumpy! He's sorted you right out!
I usually park at the Wembley Ikea multi storey & get the tube in from Neasden, about 5 mins walk away.
It's open till 10pm.
Drove down last Sat to see Matilda the musical.
Parked under Euston station for £8 from 8am till midnight, booked through one of these rent my drive web sites.
