LMTTM Junior is on the cusp of needing a new car seat.

At 17.5kg we are looking at group 2/3 seats.

He currently has an isofix Britax Duo that comes with its own harness.

It seems, at a glance, that group 2/3 seats don't often come with isofix and I don't believe I've seen one with a harness.

So what have folk plumped for.

It seems strange to think of a 3 1/2 yr old restrained by a seatbelt only. This may be me being over protective!

Thoughts/advice/recommendations all very welcome 🙂

Thank you in advance.

We've got one of these. It's a good seat and I'd say better than the other we have, which is also isofix. The USP the x2 has is the reclining headrest, it keeps them protected when they fall asleep as they don't slump forward.

Britax Super Cruiser was the best child seat ever made. No idea why they stopped making it. Light, quick fastening, easily adjustable, transferred between cars, washable cover. We used one for years then passed them down the family.

Similar situation here. Had a quick look the other night. The Britax Advansafix looked a reasonably good bet. Isofix and 5 point harness up to 25kg, then seatbelt up to 36kg.

been using a britax evolva 123 where you can stow away the harness once they are big enough although its not an isofix.
