My son is doing ICT BTech (or something like that), he handed me a list of the software he needs.
-Adobe CS6 Master Suite (£1000+ forget it son)
-Microsoft Visual Studio
-Microsoft Office
The Adobe student license is way too high so he can go open source for that. But it seems MS offer VS and Office for free to students..but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get it. In the US it appears to come under the banner of Dreamspark. He might be getting GCC and Openoffice instead.
Any ideas?
I'd be surprised if he needed the entire Adobe suite. In fact I'd be surprised if he needed any of it, but there might be one or two programs he uses consistently on the course.
have a look at the adobe creative cloud. Essentially you can lease the software for a monthly payment. It gets him all of the updates as they happen and you can cancel at any time.
