Well last night he woke at 9pm screaming so I went on a epic windathon. He farted(!) and burped in the end and slept right through.
I think the missus gives up after a while of gentle patting thinking it isn't wind.

Does he have formula in the evening? You could try a different brand, might help with the wind.
Also there is something called "Colief", this breaks down the lactose in the milk and make it easier for the baby to digest. Its a bit expensive so try and get it on prescription.
