My parcel seems to have got stuck. It keeps getting received at Skipton delivery office, nowhere near where its going and the message says "Sorry, your item went to Skipton DO in error, so we re-routed it immediately." but it it hasn't been rerouted anywhere as far as I can tell. Address on it is correct. Will it ever get where its going? There doesn't seem to be any way for non commercial customers to contact Royal Mail

My Irish passport application was stuck in the MK sorting office for 3 months, apparently due to industrial action and also a cyber attack. Nothing I could do could affect the outcome or expedite it.

Write a letter to the Skipton DO manager?

You should be able to phone the Skipton DO and ask them to look out for it. My guess is the return address is somewhere very prominent on the parcel and keeps getting it missorted. Ask them to make it less obvious if that is the case. I'm a postie.

Good luck. My sister got no mail for 2 weeks from her local sorting office in Glasgow. Then it all arrived at once.

Outgoing not much better. She sent two birthday cards to a local address. Neither ever arrived.

Must say it seems very variable. Our post service is absolutely fine.

I had a RM delivery from Rimpact turn up on my doorstep at the back end of last year - 13 months after it had been despatched so you're only just getting started!

Another ex-Postie - it varies massively from depot to depot - some are massively under-staffed so if stuff gets put aside/ caught in a backlog it could stay there for weeks. Sounds like there’s a big pile of stuff set aside at Skipton DO that’s not going anywhere until there’s someone to deal with it - at least you know where it is!
