I ordered some stuff from Myprotein to be delivered to a BFPO address.

Following the tracking it appears to have been delivered but the day after it was returned to sender.

According to the latest tracking its being "sorted at hub" this was 3 days ago.

Ive been in contact with Myprotein and they are saying they wont refund me until the item is returned to them?

Is that correct?

Some couriers don't deliver to BFPO addresses. Hopefully you should be well aware of this. Also they generally wont refund until the the goods are back in their hands to displace any reason for fraud and generally yes that is how it works.

Would you refund a bike you sold until it was back in your hands?

My protein do deliver to BFPO as ive had stuff before from them as have the lads that I work with.

It more the fact that they can see the tracking info I can see which shows the parcel to be on its way to them.

you want the money back they want the product back
the later has to happen for the former. This might be a pain for you but it is how it is.

Imagine you get it empty the box and return it and they refund you whilst waiting

Would you expect them to send it out before you paid for it?

I'm not sure you really know enough information here to be able to say what they should do.
If the items have genuinely been delivered and returned to sender by somebody, they will want them back before giving you the money. Is it possible someone else rejected the delivery or sent it back for some reason before you getting it?
If the courier have messed up and it never actually made it to the address, regardless of what the tracking says, it's their issue to sort out with their sub-contractor and you should not be out of pocket as a result.

Can't you wait for a few days? Seems fair enough to me.

Disingenuous thread title award, should read "Parcel not yet received by sender, still with courier"...

Nope title is correct footflaps.

Parcel delivered to bfpo office...... Two hours later returned to sender. This was on the 28th January.

Do you think I've waited a fair time for it to get back to them ?

No I wouldn't say a week is long enough to kick off, especially as you appear to have ordered a delivery to somewhere that won't sign for it

I reckon it's reasonable to wait a little longer. I've had stuff suddenly get delivered when the tracking info said something completely different. In fact I once complained, got another product sent, then the original came the next day...which was a waste of time and effort for everyone (and money for the seller).

Two hours later returned to sender.

...'err no, it is not returned' - surely that is past tense, as in 'has happened'. Once it 'has happened' they will refund.

At the moment it is 'returning' that is, still in progress.

🙂

Nope. Courier might takes ages to return to sender.

They definatley do deliver to BFPO, the actual place it was delivered to is an army camp I believe near london.

It seems strange that it was delivered and then 2 hours later returned to sender.

but it was despatched to the address you gave, then rejected? Not the senders fault that the folk you got it sent to took 2 days to reject it (alternatively it just took two days for the system to be updated)

Start airing your grievances on their facebook site. I did that after a problem with First Utility following a house move, which I had no luck with when trying to talk to the over the phone. Within 30 mins of posting they'd put £60 in to my account as a good will gesture.

For all they know you've posted a brick back to them.

I'm afraid you'll need to show a little patience.

In this instance the "returned to sender" status just indicates "back in the network to work it's way back to recipient. Having worked with couriers lots in the past, you tend to find returns are bulked together and dropped once, as the courier isn't charging the client for this, so needs to make the cost saving to remain viable as a business themselves.

From experience, I'd say you need to allow 10 working days - as of right now you've only been waiting 6.

We had issues with sending powders by BFPO - can't remember the exact problem but they stopped accepting them.

Let's say you sold something, posted it out and for some reason it didn't make it to the recipient, and was then in the process of being returned to you.

Would you refund them, before you physically had it back? No, thought not.

If you miss out the bit about the BFPO (as its not really relevant)

Basically, you bought something, and they delivered it to you, as agreed.

2 days later, You returned it, and they said "fine, when it arrives we will refund you"

Pretty standard, every online retailer does exactly the same.

Can't see what the problem is really.

I think it's pretty good of the BFPO boys to anticipate what was coming and save you the bother in a few weeks time.

It never actually got to me though. It got to bfpo hq but then was returned to sender after 2 days. So it wasn't me that returned it.

Tracking still saying the same as it did on the 2nd Feb.

Have you sold your Orange yet? If not, fancy sending it to me? I will sort the money out once I receive the bike.

The retailer doesn't know that.

"I cant contact bfpo. There website says to contact the sender for info."

And suddenly it makes sense why many retailers wont send to bfpo......
