When I got home I had a card through the door saying a parcel (a hub and bits worth about £100) had been left in a safe place.....the recycling bin.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be there now. I've checked that the neighbours haven't got it, so I'm assuming it's been pinched.
I've never specified a safe place for parcels, and definitely wouldn't specify a bin!
I'm guessing it's onto the retailer to see if they'll refund or resend. Seller is a well established online shop, and delivery was by Parcel Force, so we're not talking dodgy eBay seller and Hermes luckily!
Anyone had similar happen, and did it end happily?
Parcel won't leave stuff here except with a neighbour, we have to collect from depot if we miss a delivery. My wife once did receive a text from (I cant remember which courier) saying they had delivered, she phoned and said she had been in, and no package had arrived. They said it was in the car port, she said it wasn't so they sent a picture, she told them that was someone elses carport! The package turned up 20 mins later.
I don't see how the sender can't refund if the package was left unsecured by the courier.
I had this happen with a pair of shoes from amazon, I can’t remember the courier but I got a replacement sent to me on next day delivery after informing them.
I've emailed the retailer, though I don't expect a reply over the weekend.
It's annoying, as I'd planned to build it up tonight and ride it tomorrow.
Quite a specific bit of kit too - a single speed, drum brake, 36 hole hub. I suspect whoever half-inched it will be quite disappointed!
What parcel?
😉

It is. They can claim off the courier, you have no relationship with them.
