I think Abramovich should sack the next manager before he starts.
He should have a go himself (he probably will one day)!
In one of the articles yesterday, it said that chelski had spent 140 million paying off sacked managers during the Abramovich era.
I know football money is fantasy anyway these days, but that is a startling figure.
140 what, roubles? The figure on BBC Sport was £110, with Jose getting the biggest slice of that, but he did have two bites. Sarri got a very respectable £26.6 million all to himself.
However, if you’ve read Catherine Belton’s book you’ll know what the plan was/is, so considering the BILLIONS floating around it’s a drop in the ocean really.
I was going to say that 110 or even £140M isn't all that much these days, given what a work class player costs in transfer fees, wages and agent fees.
Big Sam is a genius!
To misquote someone: I think he's an idiot savant.... But without the savant bit
Watching Chelsea, they seem to have 5 or 6 players that are a clone of each other.
New management are still there.
Chelski just have too many players. Don’t they famously have miles more players on their books than any other club? That’s why the transfer ban was always a nonsense. They had players out on loan all over Europe. It’s been a very profitable production line for Ambramovic.
Half the problem with Frank was that he never seemed to play the same squad two weeks running. Always chopping and changing. After 18 months in the job he still didn’t look like he had a clue what his best starting eleven was
Look at the squads that are firing and it’s the same starting line-up week in, week out, with the odd rotation
Seems you need a bit of Ole time Binners.....
Man U back in crisis again? 😆
Cancel the parade!
Man U back in crisis again? 😆
Perhaps they’re focusing on the Champions League?
Woeful! Looks like we’d reverted to the sideways sideways backwards nonsense under Maureen. No final ball.
Fair play to Sheffield. They thoroughly deserved the win. We were awful. Cavani and Shaw should both be starting every game
What makes it even worse is that Bolton-supporting ABU, Mrs Binners had a fiver on Sheffield and is absolutely loving this!
Man U back in crisis again
You’re still 6 points behind us. Let’s see how you get on against spuds tomorrow. Barely worth watching. We all know the Maureen game plan...

Sticking with my prediction that the title is Citeh’s to lose. And I can’t see them doing that
They will lose it if they sign Diego Costa as Micah Richards suggested.
He can start a fight in an empty room.
There’s no way Pep would sign a player like Costa. He’s horrible
Having said that, one of the best matches I’ve ever watched was ‘the Battle of Stamford Bridge’. Costa set the tone and pretty much every player on the pitch could have and probably should have been sent off 😂
Watched it with my daughter, who’s a pretty handy centre back, and being used to modern refereeing, she couldn’t believe what she was watching
Costa would fit into a 70’s Leeds team. That’s not Citeh
He’s not a midfielder so Pep won’t be keen.
He’s a thug, so Pep won’t be keen
Also Atletico are an old players home and they've let him leave.
He’s not a midfielder so Pep won’t be keen.
Yeah Pep is so obsessed with midfielders, he played them as centre backs when all the senior centre backs were injured, what kind of idiotic manager would do that?
A bit of light relief for y'all. The only great football record ever made.

Pretty bloody good game in the end.
Wasn’t bad, was it? A lot more open than expected. I was pleasantly surprised
Must be a relief for the scousers to finally get on the score sheet in 2021? 😂 Considering Maureen is so defensive there was some shambolic defending on display tonight. He looked absolutely livid!
I still can’t see past Citeh winning it but it’s going to be a hell of a run in for the rest of the season. I expect there’ll be a few more bonkers results yet. Top 4 is anybody’s really
Matip injured again - is he made of glass?
Glad I haven't got BT after semi-watching the commentary on BBC text..
Thiago is a very very good player. He's going to make quite a difference this season. And he'll get better when he's fully premier League house trained.
Yep, some pretty ridiculous comments blaming him for the recent poor form. I think Klopp signed him to alter the style a bit, or give more flexibility, a plan b if you will. Him and Fabinho as a pair would be great, if Fabinho is ever allowed out of defence again!

He's a bit instantly defensive on his passes at times for me, even more so than Henderson. But when Thiago comes forward he's got excellent vision and range of passing that's for sure, but too often for my liking he (and the rest in the past few weeks) have been looking square/back instead of forwards. This was also the case for some of the game last night. But happily, not all of it.
The biggest issue currently and it sounds a bit ridiculous to say it, is Mane and Salah, they're both time and time and time again taking the wrong options and being far too easily read by defenders, both of them need a bit of a plan B, Salah more then Mane arguably.
I think Liverpool fans are also feeling a little fickle after blowing everyone away last year it was expected for that to continue and it hasn't, so the come-down has been a little harsh to accept. It's still beautiful football at times, but some of the spark is missing at times.

It is frustrating but I think it's at least partly because teams often park the bus now against Liverpool so the space going forwards is so crowded. Probably explains why they don't look like they're having that much fun any more. I've noticed more players barely celebrating goals now also presumably in case they get chalked off.
People say with Dortmund the same thing happened re parking the bus, so it will be interesting to see if Klopp can figure out a way round it. Getting Jota and VVD back would definitely help. I wonder if Salah is becoming a destabilising presence also.

It has amazed me that it has taken teams so long to actually do that, the same teams that have been doing that against city for at least 2 seasons, just seemed to open up for Liverpool despite the run of games they have been on.

He has got to sort his own attitude out first IMO. I only saw the first half of the game last night (which was the wrong half to see by the sounds of it), but whenever the camera was on Klopp, he looked more to be berating his players for what they had done, rather than encouraging them to do what they should do, reminded me very much of maureens time at united. That plus the fact the media have at last stopped being the liverpool cheer leading section isn't doing the team any favors.

Nah, that's just how he is, that's just her persona, whether winning or losing, i think the players seem perfectly OK with it.
Lingard to West Ham on loan.
Big news🤦
It’ll be good to see him playing again. Interesting that his first game will be against Liverpool.
He likes scoring against Liverpool. And West Ham are pretty handy at the moment
Aye, fair dos, moyes has proved me wrong, I've always said when your star wanes as a manager you're done, moyes has been awesome.
Maureen looked to be bucking that too, but not so sure now. Stories of it all kicking off in the dressing room at half time against Liverpool, Aurier pissed off home.
Lloris was more to blame for the goals tbh but it was all fairly shocking. When you're a team that concentrates on sitting back and defending well then hitting teams on the break, but you don't do the first bit competently... 🤷♂️
Solid point for Utd that 🤗
One win in four league games. That’s the kind of form that got Lampard the sack! Bruno having a bit of a lean spell (aside from the winner in the cup).
United have really gone off the boil since they won the title a couple of weeks ago. Must still be hungover.
No penalties for a few games. Makes you think.
Today looked like the woeful City game.
Like they’d all agreed to just have a bit of a kick about for a nil nil and take a point each. Nobody on either side looked like they were particularly arsed.

Yet even if you win tomorrow - which is far from a given, with yours and West Hams respective form - you’re still sat behind us and Citeh.
Lose and West Ham put you out of the top four
Everything’s relative
Rather be where we are than where you are

Rather be where we are than where you are
7 years without challenging for a premier league title and out of the champions league for another year - yeh okay 😂
Last time I looked 7 years beats 30
I don’t think for a second we’ll win the title this year. Neither do any United fans who are engaged with reality. It’s Citeh’s to lose
That’s very different from the tediously laughable 3 decades of this at the other end of the M62
Hopefully the next 30 years allow you to come to terms with it a bit easier 😉
Um... you haven't won anything yet.
Also, look what Man U fans are reduced to boasting about 😆
We don’t think we’re going to win anything. Like I said repeatedly l: I think the title is City’s to lose.
Do try and keep up dear
EDIT: actually, we’re still up for an FA Cup since we knocked you out of it last weekend 😃
I posted before your edit but saying this
Last time I looked 7 years beats 30
Seems to be assuming that you won't be waiting 30 years, or longer.
'Living in the past' used to be the standard insult for Liverpool fans from Man Utd fans, how things change eh?
Not really. You’re not looking even close to defending a title. It’s gone already. You’ve not a chance of winning it, and tomorrow you could be out of the top four. You got your first goal of 2021 the other night after 4 games without scoring. That’s a title defence?
If you win tomorrow, we’re still above you
Not much of a title defence, is it really? After 30 years of asking?
As the preamble for the United Arsenal game pointed out tonight, for ten years Fergie and Wenger made sure there was nobody else in the mix. It was one of the two. Where were you? 5th? 7th? Mid-table obscurity?
Was it ‘your year’?
😘
Title defence?
Thursday nights in Kazakstan?
Where were you? 5th? 7th? Mid-table obscurity?
The positions Utd have been in the past 7 years 😂🙌🏻
It’s lovely seeing Utd fans with some hope after winning the January 2021 league title. It’s been quite sad watching their demise the past couple of years - not even a peep of wanting to engage with rival fans - nearly became as bad as ArsenalTV 😆
Last time I looked 7 years beats 30
Last time I looked Liverpool won it last year not 30 years ago - Utd last won it 2013. And we won’t go into the last time Utd seriously challenged for a Champions League 🙈

Its pretty depressing to see that this is still going. If anything, it seems to be getting worse

I bet loads of knuckle-draggers will also get upset that he said he's proud to be black, as in 'why can he say that but we're racist if we say we're proud to be white' etc 🙄

Agreed - awful
Extra 3 points and a few more goals - that’ll do. Someone reminded us we only just scored our first goal of 2021 a week ago - still nearly double GD of number 2 in the table 😂
Looking a little bit more like ourselves the last two games 🙌🏻
Indeed, that went well. Goals 2 and 3 were lovely!
And Spurs lost. A good day.

What an utter nonsense post - are you just trying to stoke the embers of a fire you want to relight?
Eh?
You been drinking johndoh?
Liverpool have signed a centre-half.
I wonder if he'll get injured signing the contract 🤔
Fair chance - probably why they’re trying to sign another.
I think it was on the beeb feed that I saw it...
“A telling line from the Klopp interview: ‘I can’t wait to meet him.’”
😀 Desperate times.
I’m guessing he breaks his ankle as he gets off the train at Lime Street.
I’m going for him being crushed by a falling grand piano outside Anfield or run over by a Coyote on a pair of Acme rocket-powered rollerskates
How about death by a sheet of glass like the journalist in The Omen?
The way things are going the back four will be Salah, Barnes, Rush & Dalglish
They’re trawling Facebook for proud dad footage of any lad that looks a bit handy at the back...
Good job they signed two as Matip is out for the season!
Blimey! You expect that kind of abject stupidity from Walking red card David Luiz, but WTF was Leno thinking?
Going down to nine men? A good way to end the decent run you’ve been on
We are a bunch of nice lads: maybe we should have really made them look at it before the game started again.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said his players were right to surround referee Craig Pawson during the defeat to Liverpool after Manchester United were hit with an FA charge for failing to control their players.

🤔
Be more Keano?

😂
That was an absolutely shocking challenge! More like an assault.
An old fashioned reducer! Saints will do well to keep this under ten.
They did well! Holy moly, another 9-0?! Two red cards this time though.
That won’t do our goal difference any harm 😂

Marcus Rashford says he is "pleased" about surpassing Eric Cantona on Manchester United's list of goalscorers.
not really the same impact though eh?
Give him a chance. He’s only 23
Maybe he should turn his collar up 😂

Still willing to dive for penalties when 6-0 up, that's the mentality that wins you titles.
U OK HUN? XX
I'm more concerned for Anthony Martial after that savage attack.
He’s having scans but initial disagnosis are showing he may not lose the leg
#prayfortony
He did clip him, it was a penalty, he was 'within his rights' to go down.
It's just become so ingrained now that as soon as they feel contact they don't even try to stay up; he was clear through on goal and gave that up for a penalty and a red card.
Presumably they don't back themselves to score and take the safer option as a result. On that basis do defenders need to learn that if making the challenge risks the penalty, which the player will go for 9/10 times, absolutely don't make the challenge and pull out earlier and gamble that the lack of confidence in the 1-1 situation with the keeper is correct.
In basketball this is ingrained in players, they'll stand back and give a run to the basket if they know they have little chance of avoiding contact. I know that 2 points in a 100-100 game are in comparison way less valuable, also 5 / 6 fouls and you are fouled out but that's part of that game, does it need to become part of football too, where excellence of both strikers and GK in 1-1 situations is the deciding factor, not who can fall over best and con some bloke in Stockley Park. I'd have given Peter Schmeichel or Shilton more chance in a 1-1 far more than from the penalty spot, for example so let that happen rather than give the striker the 'right'
You’re eyesight is better than mine as I saw no contact and neither did Dion Dublin on MOTD. But as you say there was not enough to go down. Makes me look forward more to the 6 nations as a clip would not bring down a trained athlete.
