With the good weather forecast looming I'm going to paint our facias, hoping to get a couple more years off them.
Undercoat and top coat or one coat?
As it's GCSE day, explain your answer 😄
I used Dulux for years on old houses outside.
The PaintShed recommend Jotun Visir Primer and Demidekk Ultimate. I'd used Jotun on boats before with good results.
It's brilliant stuff - 5 years in and looks like new still. Goes on easily as well, feels like oil based paint not water based.
It's meant to be good for 12 years.
No more expensive than Dulux.
+1 for demidekk
I have hardwood windows that have been in for donkeys years.
I rubbed them back to bare. Wood and painted then with demidekk when j moved in 8 years ago. Took a long time but they looked great after
Last year I gave them a very quick hand sand to key and a quick freshen up coat -they didn't need it but I now know I won't have to do them for a good few years and that there's no chinks in the armour and I won't have to do the full sand back thing
Don't dismiss Sandtex.
It's actually pretty good.

Difficult to wash off if you're paintings faces though
