On the bottom of my right foot, from just back from the little toe, about 4" I get pain often, it's a constant pain when it's here, but can last 5 mins, 10 mins or many hours, constant but sharp I guess... hurts to walk on it but not debilitating. Had it now on and off for a couple of years.. it can go weeks etc without any pain though, sometimes just a few hours.

Doesn't seem a correleation at to when, but it does seem worse after walking etc.

Any ideas/thoughts on this ?

Go see a podiatrist, probably sort it for you quite easily.

Tendon, go see doctor for physio referral.

Would it not pass after a certain amount of time if something like a tendon ?

I hate troubling the docs with things I perceive as trivial, but it's a proper pain in the (foot) ar5e.

Tends to be to do with inflexibility in your legs - stretches are the long term fix. Also check your shoes fit properly and aren't worn out

Do you get this after wearing cycling shoes?

funnily that came up in a completely un-related discussion with a mate who's been diagnosed with it recently... I'm seeing him Thurs and will pick his brain.

it's happened through various forms of shoes, none seem to make it better/worse, from 5 10's and Tevas, to Merrells or flat soled brogues.

I don't have cycling specific shoes, 5'10s and Teva Links for cycling on large platform flats.

I don't know, but my physio said that with treatment it could take over 12 months for the foot to get back to normal. I guess that without treatment you could be looking at a longer period.
Stop being such a wimp and get to the docs, 2 years of foot pain is hardly trivial.

Moretons neuroma possibly. Apparently I have it but I'm not totally convinced.
