yeah yeah yeah buy a sub, but it is very annoying when you're reading the thread titles or going to click on a thread and the page moves down.

That's the adverts being inserted after the initial page load causing the browser to redraw the whole page because the holder for the advert isn't the same size as the advert that gets placed there.

Annoys me too ... lots.

I think its the adverts which are loading in.   The annoying thing being that whilst there are place holders for them when the first display of the page happens, the place holders are always set small ... the ad loads in and realises it needs to adjust and expand to fit the ad .... leading to the page jumping about.

I've never understood why the place holder for the ad is not specified at the outset ... then that way, the page loads, and over time the ads simply drop in without shifting the page around.

Not just here, the web in general is getting a bit shit to use. Even the old scroll up and down a page to see what is there is starting to fail as people try and do 'clever' things that are actually just worse 🙁

I call it the ‘STW-Bounce’ on iPad it’s terrible, it’s basically pot luck which thread you get to read as it always moves just as you tap.

Its worse if you flick down to see more threads as it just starts all over again.

Wow! That's a sweeping statement! I only really use STW, some music sites and a few shopping sites and can't say anything has changed much except this turdy mess of a forum 😆

If it was predictable you'd develop ways to not notice the ads. Hence why it ain't.
