I recently binge watched series 1, as I couldn't get enough of it.

I'm up to ep 7 of series 2 and really struggling to stay interested. It seems to get more ridiculous every episode and I'm finding it a slog.

Does it pick up again?

No, it's watchable but lame. It just gets more and more unbelievable. Julia Garner is fantastic though.

I really enjoyed it, it's entertainment at the end of the day does it need to be believable?

I was the same, started well then thought it dropped off so I only got about halfway through the 2nd season. I've forgotten everything so would have to start again which I can't be bothered with

I'd put it in the 'decent' category. OK TV, but not in the same league as Narcos / Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul etc.

Season 4 is dragging somewhat though.

I found about 1/3 of the way into each season I wondered if I should really bother continuing. Finished each one off and enjoyed overall though.

I made it to the end of season 2 before giving up. I think Julia Garner’s performance is the main reason for watching.

Really enjoyed it, waiting for the 2nd half of season 4 to be released.

I love the strong female leads in it, Wendy and Helen were really good.

Up and down, overall decent. Session 4 PT 1 the dullest so far, until ep7 when it made me sit up and pay attention.

We're ready to watch S4, but Mrs wants to rewatch all S3... nah. Maybe last two. It's pretty good overall.

Ha it’s funny you say that, I started watching it with the missus, trouble is she can’t deal with slow burners and I can and get absorbed by them… so she stopped watching it and I carried on, tried to get her back into it but too much has happened so gone solo with it, her loss 😆. She works til 9 at night so that time’s my Ozark time 😬

Can’t wait for Season 4 Part 2 if I’m honest!!

Does anybody else think the Marty/Wendy relationship has echos of Walt/Jessie? It's the way one was bad and one against it, then they flip around, then flip again then team up.

I said on here a few years back that I thought the whole thing was based on the Breaking Bad anti-hero you can relate to concept, the only difference is that with Ozark every character is an unlikable **** that you couldn't care less about and kind of hope they die.

Absolutely agree, though I was a bit similar with Breaking Bad anyway. Better Call Saul is superior IMO.

The "selling heroin to a pharma firm" plotline is even dafter than usual. Feels like they ran out of ideas TBH.

Yes but they've added a twist, writers who can't write, directors who can't direct and actors who can't act

With one exception, I agree. I'm definitely on team Ruth

I feel like that about the characters in The Servant.

They should just sack the rest of the cast and make a show with just her in it.

It's a second-rate knockoff of Breaking Bad. Thing is, I found Skyler White fairly believable as a wife who finds out her husband is a monster but makes some bad choices. Wendy Bird is just impossible to like. Jessie Pinkman was a brilliant sidekick, clueless but just a likeable kid at heart. Jonah Byrd is just an asshole. Same goes for all the main characters. You can match them up and the Breaking Bad characters are much richer and played by better actors.

Julia Garner is the exception to this. I will not tolerate a bad word said about her.

Goes well with the theme of inept and incompetent nepotism all the way to the top. Pharma CEO lady has inherited a company with her name on it and has no idea how to run it.
Compare and contrast to:
Marty and Jonah, Frank Snr and Jnr, The Navarro uncle/nephew, the Senator the Byrd Foundation is trying to woo. And probably some others.

Do not watch the new Netflix thing with her in it, her German accent is terrible.

We're watching it dubbed in French 😉

Hopefully that's far less cringe worthy

I see where you're going with that and it's impressive that you've clocked what they may be aiming for, but it's still absolutely ridiculous.

Unless any opiate manufacturers on the forum want to correct me of course.

Oh I agree breaking bad was far better. Ozark has been watchable though.

I really enjoyed Ozark all the way through (so far) and never tired of it. Ruth is one of my favourite characters in anything, up there with Saul (and Kim Wexler)
