Planning a short break away in Harrogate. We'll arrive Saturday lunchtime and go to the Trkish baths, then go for an early dinner (in keeping with the Turkish theme was thinking of Konak Meze) then some drinks / entertainment in the evening. May go for elevenses at Betty's on Sunday before heading home.

Any thoughts / suggestions on what to do are much appreciated.

TIA.

You will not be disappointed with Konak Meze - that is a top choice.

Cold Bath Brewery on Kings Road for drinks (North Bar at the top of Cheltenham Mount is quite nice too).

You could also see if there’s anything on at the Theatre or Royal Hall. If you like music, Blues Bar usually has a band on. If you like rock music, get down to Montey’s.

I think we went to Blues Bar about 15 / 20 years ago and liked it then. Thanks for the reminder. Both venues are close to each other, and our Hotel.

Both a good call but I'd personally be more inclined towards starling and little ale House. Very much a preference thing mind rather than anything more significant than that.

spent a night in harrogate a few months back.
Wife did the shopping thing and I hit North Bar, The Little Ale house and then North bar....all excellent and close to each other. Scran at Suzzi ( https://www.stuzzi.co.uk) which was also excellent

Little Ale house if definitely worth a visit. Coldbath also is decent it has a new wine bar next door that sells cheese, meats etc.

Valley Gardens is nice for a stroll round.

Enjoy!

Sounds like a plan already! Keep it to independents if possible to help the local traders. Konak is good as is Papas (also tapas) in Princes Sq.

Pubs wise then Cold Bath, Little Ale House, Starlings, Major Toms, Taps, Old Bell are all great for real ale.

For coffee then Hoxton North is great (fab food too), Prologue with some road bike porn too, Bean and Bud for lovely coffee and cakes or Marconi’s for Italian style cafe with good food.

Have fun.

Do people actually go to Betty’s? I though they just queued outside. Bean and Bud is good but there are lots of choices.

Harlow Carr garden is good but maybe not at its best this time of year (and a bit pricey).

I always look in the meat shop to see what they’ve got. Usually something interesting. Yorkshire Farmers I think it’s called. Near bean and bud.

Get an early start you can do the parkrun on the stray.
