I don't usually use Outlook, I just use the web interface for Gmail most of the time (seemingly since Nov 2021 judging by the already downloaded messages) but I opened it today to use, re-logged in to my Gmail account but it won't download pictures in my emails.
Clicking the "Download Pictures" at the top of messages doesn't work and I've changed the settings to auto download and still no joy.
Anything in Gmail itself that needs changing or...?
Just on the off chance - Are the pictures in your Gmail email embedded or are they actually links to, say, Google Photos?
Seems to be all pictures. Either embedded ones or linked ones e.g. the hyperlink picture buttons on a Tredz email don't show, it's just a box saying "The linked image cannot be displayed....."
The hyperlink works as it takes me to the Tredz page.
Gmail in a browser the pictures work fine and Outlook on my phone also works fine.
Clicking on "View email in a browser" option loads Edge and just opens as text with any links inside < > - I presume that should load the message up in glorious technicolour.
I have Microsoft 365 and Outlook in Web Browser works fine.
Anyone else have any ideas please?
I've deleted and created a new profile.
Uninstalled Outlook (and the rest of Microsoft 365), deleted the .pst file and re-installed, obviously didn't completely remove everything because I didn't have to set the email address back up.
I know this isn't the answer you want but,
Why? What are you trying to achieve?
Outlook is a class-leading corporate email client but a truly terrible regular email client. If for some unholy reason you can't use webmail, consider something like Thunderbird (or a thousand others which are all better-suited than Outlook).
I think the last time I used a fat client for email was in the days of MS Vista.
@Cougar because I was trying to write a complaint to Octopus and wanted to look through multiple emails to copy & paste bits from. Webmail was making this frustrating and I thought I know, I've got Outlook installed, I'll use that. And then I get annoyed when things don't work...
I'll just stick with webmail 🙂
I would. 😁 I think I'd rather use W10's inbuilt Mail app before using Outlook.
With stuff like that, I generally launder text via Notepad rather than try and do it all self-contained.
