Not for me but a client. I have a system that sends him automatically generated emails in HTML but when he opens them in Outlook he has to open the HTML attachment to see it. Is there a way to have outlook display html emails by default?
Is it generating a HTML email with an image attachment that he is then opening?
If yes then it will be something along these lines:

Sounds like an issue with how the "system" is sending rather than Outlook receiving to me.
You're talking about the Outlook that's part of Office and not the web site, yes?
No it's a short email with no images and a text file attachment. Is it generating a HTML email with an image attachment that he is then opening?
You may well be right. I'm looking into that right now. The original html page was very simple indeed but there was no meta information and I'm wondering if Outlook 2016 (which is what he's using) needs that - so I've added it.Sounds like an issue with how the "system" is sending rather than Outlook receiving to me.
This is more a matter of pride than anything, he's happy with the plain text version but I want it to look prettier!
