And they're still going off at ten pm ffs!!

Wouldn't mind but they started at five before I had chance to walk the dogs this evening.

I was coming home at midnight and the arseholes were still out firing off the loud ones next to peoples houses!

This is quite legal, on any day of the year.

Maybe, but it wears a little thin after five hours.

Still can't believe that in this day of embracing different religions that we still celebrate getting one over on the Catholic's

According to gov.uk

"The law says you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.

You must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am. The exceptions are:

Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight
New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am"

In Glasgow at least, a single firework on it's own when it's not bonfire night means "my latest shipment of drugs has arrived".

😆 at Drac

People have been having ceremonial bonfires probably longer than they've been domesticating dogs.

This reminds me I've still got a professional mortar somewhere I need to think of something to do with. Probably not this:

Are you saying you are illegally in possession of a dangerous explosive?
If so, then I can advise you what to do with it.

Some people are no fun. No, it was a decent-sized thing I bought from the newsagents next to my old shop a while ago, the kind that's a cardboard tube which fires a big banger into the air and scares pets over a wide radius. They don't seem to be made any more.

Though come to think of it we set of the last of the fireworks we had a while back, so probably used it up then.

Bloody hell jimster/tomkerton people were setting of fireworks before you had dogs.
It's only a few nights a year.

Tip to dog owners, I've always trained my dogs to loud bangs/crashes/noises from being pups. None of them have been particularly bothered by fireworks.

They cope fine. But I have two of them at me feet shaking with fear despite the radio and TV at full blast trying to drown out the noise of fireworks.

Odd.

Have you got Strictly on? It might well be that and not the fireworks. It has me cowering behind the sofa every time Craig tries to crack a smile 😀

It's a bit annoying when I've just about got my 4 month old pup toilet trained only to watch him stressing and busting for a piss then having to let him do it inside while simpletons get their kicks for 6,7,8 hours a night.

A few nights a year for a few hours for the kids would be ok but not this

We've had an 11 week old pup for a week...she's toilet trained now and maybe because we're w noisy house she has not been at all bothered by the fireworks.

Next door lighting up the sky, and the big council one just started over the back.

Perhaps we got her at the right time...she's used to the banging and seems pretty chilled. She's more spooked by her own reflection!

Fireworks in Germany are absolutely mental - it's pretty exciting but really genuinely dangerous. Would never be allowed in the UK.

It was like this in Munich last NYE - people throwing fireworks at cars and buses and all sorts. I pulled a woman out of the way of getting a rocket to the face. Saw lots of ambulances. Fun though!
