My daughters iPad mini seems to have 12GB of 'other' data!

Needles to say this is making it virtually unusable - I've tried restoring the iPad but this increased the other data. How the **** do you delete it!!!

I know I can restore to factory settings and re-download games (rather than restore from backup) but I assume this will also delete any game data - and if she loses her Minecraft worlds, well my life won't be worth living! ;o)

Any help appreciated!

Had that on my iPhone once, it lost all the music and reclassified it as other. Really not helpful. I downloaded an app which allowed me access to the directory structure on the iPhone and deleted it that way.

on my iphone i always find that simply backing it up gets rid of the 'other' data. same thing on my macbook.

On my ipad, other data is ibooks, pdf's that ive downloaded and saved, and magazines that i've boughht on the newstand app. To delete any of that stuff I just go into the app and delete from there.

You get an app by app breakdown of used space in Settings->General->Usage that'll tell you what app is the biggest culprit.

Probably things like downloaded books, video, maps etc
