I got my W900i unlocked in Kingsway, London. Apparently they are tricky and need some special software, I looked for free online codes first but couldn't find any (but loads of free ones for Nokia phones). It cost £15.

It was originally a Vodafone phone, and the Voda software is still in it. I've put an O2 payg sim in and it's not very happy, doesn't readily want to connect to the internet, although I accept I may be able to fix that by some further tweaking.

Anyway, the answer is, ask anywhere where you see a sign for unlocking phones.

£8 - that's a better price. I paid the £15 because it was just over the road from work, handy for me to just walk there. Yep, needed a laptop.

What network is it on? O2 don't lock their phones.

Depends where you are really but a place opposite West Croydon station did mine recently for £5.
