Trying to get my NVidia G-FX card to output 1024x576 down the svideo lead, for use on my widescreen 16:9 CRT but cant for the life of me, the nvidia setup defaults to 1024x768 and if I try to force it it just refuses. Am I stuck with 4:3 ratios without a graphics card upgrade. I've tried all manner of modelines in the xorg.conf.
I think you might need to use a free utility like Powerstrip. Check out the AVforum website and search on there for more technical info.

Ta, will give that a look. Another option just opened to me, my TV accepts RGB over scart so I can knock up a VGA>RGB scart cable and use whatever res I like.
