I have an HTC Hero on tMobile - which has actually worked out well
Anyway I want to upgrade to the newest firmware which involves an annoying update from last Nov that will wipe my phone
Now I know lots of you lot are IT wizards so excuse my numptiness here but what will I need to reinstall after I wipe it?
AFAIK my photos and music are on the memory card
My contacts are all on Google so will refresh automatically
Im guessing I'll lose all my apps so should write down which ones I have - including an early version of Shazzam with unlimited access - will I lose this one?
Any other ideas welcome

If it's rooted, titanium backup will do a full backup and restore.
