Thanks thats good to know !

Just checked my subscriptions and they are now July to July, I am sure they used to be this time of year.

Is it worth cancelling and re ordering - Is full price really now £34.99 ?

I tried this last year and I haven't gotten much use out of it. The website and app isn't great. The gpx files that you download from the website can't be uploaded to a Garmin without extra faffing.

They just automatically renewed my subscription at full price and no one is answering their customer service emails.

They're not getting my money again.

Can't access the site -403 error - it's as though they are running STW software 🙂

Mine was due to expire in January, I've just purchased and it's automatically extended it for a year expiring January 26.

I quite like the app.

@FunkyDunc - you don't need to cancel. It'll just append it to your current subscription. I'm now paid up until April 2026.

I can't log in either [ 403 ]... and I think it's probably just auto renewed me at the big price anyway.

I love OS maps. I use the app all the time to find rides and walks.

Never use it to log routes but I 'curate ' my own on it a lot.

Not sure when my sub runs but I don't think it's now like.

FYI. See also memory map. It’s having a sale

https://memory-map.com/maps/uk-os-topo-maps/

*FYI. note that perpetual means as now with NO updates over its lifetime. (I use perpetual, I just buy it every 3 or 4 years in the sales to keep it nearly up to date)

Thanks OP!

I took out a subscription last month after finding a 30% discount code.

And just added another 12 months so mine expires November 2026 🙂

Thank you very much! I cancelled my renewal last month because I thought £34.99 was too much. Now subbed again 🙂

Ah... you can login... just not with that campaign link above. Go to any other page, or checkout, and you can login without the 403 error.

I just renewed the other day after stopping them from auto renewing, and it put the price down to £24.49. Obvs £17.49 is even better though!!

They charged me £28.99 on 21st Nov... so looks like they've just put the price up before making it "half price".

after stopping them from auto renewing

How did you do that?

Just to confirm what others have said above: if you've already got a sub you can just buy this one today and it adds it on to your existing subscription - so mine was going to run out in January 24, it now runs out in January 25. No need for any subterfuge with cancellations and alternative email addresses etc!

If you add to basket and then log in as part of the check out process it doesn't give you the 403 error.

For those who would like to give feedback on what they do or don’t like about the OS, they’ve got a survey specifically aimed at cyclists at the moment. They want to make it work better for people on bikes, so if you’ve got 5 min: https://ordnancesurvey.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_daHbiIqNNjnlvAq

Thanks, I've extended mine by a year using this.

There's potentially £5.25 from Topcashback too...

Thanks Hannah, I recently cancelled my renewal because I thought the price rise was a piss take but this is a bit more palatable.

@kelvin - Actually I cant remember. They sent me an email saying it was going to renew and I didn't want to pay £35, so I think I went into my account on my app and cancelled the sub, which stopped the renew, but continued until it ran out on the renew date.

I then forgot about this went into the app and my sub had ended, but it offered me 12 months at £24.49 instead of £35. That was Saturday evening....

So I didn't actually stop the auto-renew...

Well I don't know what happened but I bought a subscription and now looking on the My Subscription page my existing sub has not been extended. Ho hum.

I don't think there's a restriction on how much you can download of the uk maps but, given the way the app works, you'd have to spend quite some time to do it as you can't download until you're zoomed in sufficiently so you'd be chunking it up into a lot of individual tiles...be a right pain unless there's another way

Not as a single download. You would have to manually go around downloading individual areas and naming them all.

But for reference the size of a single OL paper map when downloaded is around 200mb so to get the whole UK would be huge!
