What is the best way to get online 1:50,000 scale OS maps, specifically with the 1:50,000 raster. I am sure there was a place you could get this free, but no success yet. I need this for work, so if i need a subscription or a licence to use that should be fine. Just needing an idea of where to start - yes i have look at the OS webpage, but its a bit poor in actually giving a solution, just sends you off to their partners.

Os subscription works on phone or pc. £18 a year i think? You can print upto A3. You need an internet connection to access the maps

If you only want certain areas you can just buy the paper maaps and they include a link to download the corresponding digital version which you can then use with their app.

The Android App Backcountry Navigator allows you to download the OS Maps from Bing onto your phone for offline use. Its a great way to get maps for free.

However, the official OS Maps app & website is really very useful and well worth £25 per year. You can load GPXs, create routes and then download *just* the area you need for offline use.

you can also download any (recent) paper maps you own if they have an online redemption code on the inside cover.
