I have tried a load of soap bars but none seem to be as "refreshing" as the Original Source minty shower gel. I am trying to cut down on my single use plastics, but nothing quite beats the tingle.
Has anyone had similar results with a bar of soap and if so which ones??
Thanks
Loads of options from Ethical Superstore including these, haven't tried them though:
Edit: another option would be to check out Etsy.
Have you looked on LoveHoney.com ?
Pears soap is great but lasts two showers, it melts away like chocolate would
Lush sell shower bars.
I tried Jims Bricks, and am still using them 6 months later.
Original Sauce do refill pouches, if you want to cut down on bottle waste.

+1 - I find the minty Original Source also keeps saddles soreness at bay, I guess its a mild antiseptic in the mint.
Lush shampoo bar. The one with the lemon in it is what I've replaced the mint sauce with. No kick to it, but I can live with it as the reduced plastic waste is why I went elsewhere.
Hopefully original sauce will bring out a bar version at some point...
Look for lemon myrtle soap. Plenty of options in health food shops etc that are as punchy as the Australian versions I used over there.

soapsaver bag and keep it hung up lasts aaaaaaaaaages if you let it dry by hanging it
Original Source use peppermint, specifically MENTHA ARVENSIS essential oil. It wouldn’t be difficult to make own soap bars using silicone mould. Just sesrch for a decent basic peppermint soap recipe then experiment with that essential oil ratio until desired level of menthol mayhem is achieved?
You could even get a bicycle themed soap mould?

Tho I quite like this mermaid one:

Great thread. I used to buy that stuff too and stopped for the same reasons. (Not because it made yr nethers tingle). Now added to list of something else I wish to make…
I got a bar of sandalwood 'flavour' soap from lush many years ago, I'm not sure they still do it, but my god, it was lovely!
Currently using Dove 'clean fresh' shower gel, but I suspect it's the bad (not very eco) kind of soap.
They’ve stopped doing refill sachets, haven’t they? I emailed them a while back grumbling about it and got a useless response saying there was no demand!!

Use it with a Ramer sponge and it lasts ages.
In fact, use any gel or soap with a Ramer sponge and it'll last so much longer.
Sort of settled on Blue Cedar bars by Faith in Nature and use them in soap bags.
Get them in bigger packs from Dolphin Fitness.
If your not so keen on soap bars, they do 5l containers of some of the shower gels.
Original Sauce Mint & Teatree Oil for maximum dingle tingle
I guess its a mild antiseptic in the mint.
it’ll be the tea tree oil that’s antiseptic. it’s great stuff
Kendal mint cake soap ?

That's a very long shower.
Original Sauce Mint & Teatree Oil
I used to love this until they dumbed it down at the same time as going over to the standard Cussons bottles. There is no longer a claim about how many leaves are in there and you can tell. If I'd known this was going to happen I'd have stocked up.
Found some Original Source soap at the weekend, but not the minty one. They do a lavender and an orangey one. Bought the orangey one to try.
Thanks for the tips above though.
Is lush still a bit dodgy on its toxic chemical policy and its use of palm oil?

Maybe they read STW and have ‘corrected it’!
From the Product page:
7,927 leaves to make enough essential oil to ensure each Original Source Mint Shower packs the tingle we require.
