I ordered a new bike from my LBS will admit I did it online rather than in the store, but bike is well was available.

Spoke to LBS today and they have it on order from Specialized for me, ordered sunday LBS ordered yesterday for some reason must of been busy. How long should it be until they have the bike, I'm a bit surprised its not in the LBS but saying that I need a small frame so maybe not.

Is a week enough time before I start to call every day to chase? they took payment quick enough!

I'm in that position that both my other bikes are on ebay both finish this weekend with bids so potentially I could be n0 after the weekend 🙁

Hi LMT

Most LBS will keep one small in of a bike for size, but mainly M, L, XL as these are more common.

Specialized are usually pretty quick with dispatching bikes, normally 1-2 working days.... Some bike shops have a day which they order and only order once a week to meet minimum orders usually £250 trade value.
It could be that Specialized have run out themselves and are waiting for stock... Even still, if it were my bike shop i would have called you ASAP to let you know there was a wait!

I think its reasonable to call.

Also, these bikes will be kept in boxes until built, it could be they've gone to build it and its been damaged in transit.

To be honest as my other thread showed it was an impulse buy, I normally go to the bike shop to sit on it try it and normally walk out the shop with a bike, or I buy canyon. Tbh the LBS have emailed me so I am confident they are on it, just wondered what the lead time was they didn't seem sure, Specialized do have the bike in stock so that's a start.

If you'd taken the trouble to contact before or during the buying process then perhaps they would have given an ETA and set your expectations

Retirement? Just finished a 5-days-out-of-6 stint 🙂

I don't need an excuse to be grumpy
