on the back of the PSA where orange were taking a bit of a (tin) bashing Heard a rumour sub 20kg aluminium lighter than carbon e-bike version of something if that’s so then maybe they aren’t resting on their laurels

I doubt they’ll look much different, the down-tube always looked like it had a bunch of batteries inside.
Never a fan of full-sus Orange bikes styling.

Ah that marketing BS again

Just like every other ebike a useable one will be about 22kg . The headline grabbing version that nobody wants or needs will be lighter

i want/they need to take on the Pinion MGU unit ebike for me.

The MGU system looks awesome, and a purist single pivot just lends itself to further reduction in maintenance requirements.

Can crusher suspension, nice big tough bearing in the pivot.

Metal Frame

Coil shock

Yes please.

Better than most of the horrific e-bikes I'd imagine?

I hope they go for Intradrive instead. Not for any particular reason other than it being a great move for Intradrive and Orange can keep playing the "made in UK" card

I saw a rumor about them using the DJI motor... probably wishful thinking...

Well their track record isn't great is it?

I will be pleased if they go MGU/Intradrive.

I don't have an e-bike yet but I'm highly unlikely to buy one with a derailleur. It's way past time to ditch bicycle drivetrains on e-bikes.

Bit of a tangent from the OP, but TBH, i dont think either the Pinion of Intradrive units are paticularly larger or different from Bosch or Shimano motor offerings. A standardised motor mounting shell would be pretty fantastic.

Intradrives design bolts straight on to Shimano mounts

I was chatting with a couple of lads on Orange eebs the other day, they're pretty decent looking for ebikes.

Eebs generally have gone from "mainly ugly", to "kind-of OK" in terms of looks in recent years - and Orange are still far from the worst IMO.

TBH you don’t need the drivetrain or gears, you just need a leccy rear hub and  bb that can apply resistance and measure  torque then you could simulate the gearing/drivetrain 🙂

(Won’t be much fun with a flat battery thou)

Over on eMTB forum, seems an eagle eyed person has spotted the fabricated blanks for a new Orange FS with the DJI motor.  Supposed to be launched at Eurobike.
