There are camels in the photo, but look at it from a different angle - literally. Once you see it, its clear as day 🙂

Camels are actually shadows, and the 'hills' are just their tracks, you're looking from directly above with a low sun.
Brickwork, the grey splodge is cigar ash and the pointing in-front of it is actually the cigar poking out the wall about 5" closer than you're looking.

colournoise: interestingly that photo has been doctored, the original at http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photo-of-the-day/camel-thorn-trees-namibia/ is definitely unreal but slightly less so.
