Just wondered if anybody has any opinions or experience of the need to get Typhoid vaccination to travel to Sharm El Sheik in Egypt. The travel clinic have suggested it is not essential (Hep A and Tetanus are essential). Their recommendation was not to bother with Typhoid for the kids 12 and 15 and up to us if we get it for myself and my wife. We are staying in a good hotel in the resort and will do a couple of days trips to snorkel etc and possible quads etc.
Why are telling you not to give it to the kids?
Years ago, I got multiple jabs on the same day, flu, yellow fever, hep a+b, typhoid etc.
Felt like absolute shit for a few days.
Never bothered me when I got them again.

It says typhoid is optional, given that you're in a good resort there's probably good water and sanitation. If you're planning on going on trips and eating street food I'd get the vaccination.
I spent 10 days in the infectious diseases ward at Gartnavel Hospital after contracting typhoid in Shanghai. After that joyous experience, I'd be getting the vaccine if I was traveling to anywhere with a remote risk of getting it.
We did a Nile cruise and Luxor say in 2023. Our travel agent suggested just Tetanus, but with being a bit outdoorsy I tend to get one every few years anyway.
I went to sharm years ago and had hep A, tetanus and typhoid all on the same day. Don't recall feeling grim afterwards but it was a long time ago. But I know for sure I'd rather have the vaccine than the bug.
Edit - I just realised I actually now get the typhoid booster every three years anyway for work, it doesn't give me side effects.
