Help please.
My step father has a Font writer personnel word processor. He has finally bought a lap top but he has 100s of poems and most of a book he has written saved on floppy disks.
On his laptop he is now using word pad to type and edit. When you load from a floppy disk each file loads with

The 0s are more like rectangles than 0s and there are around 15 lines of them then the text in the file and 10 more lines of these 0s/rectangles.
What software can I buy for him that will open up the files correctly. I don't want to open up each file and delete the extra bits as it will take days.
