We are having a new front door and need our phone line moving as it passes through the existing frame. Simple you would think. Oh no! After hours on an annoying chat line to BT I was finally told to contact Openreach. The phone numbers I was given tell me to contact my supplier, BT. So now I am in a neverneverland where I can't speak to anybody! Any ideas on how to get this done?
This is the network adjustments page but it's normally for developers and infrastructure projects. I think it would be expensive even if they agreed to accept it.

Go back to your service provider, and make a complaint if they won't arrange a paid engineer visit to move your line. It's BT who should raise an appointment via Openreach, it's only a standard engineer job.
PS Keep it simple, just tell them you need your socket moving.

Can it be carefully cut out of the old frame and then re-routed between the new frame and the wall?
BT nay have given you the wrong advice there - Openreach don't deal with consumers, they deal with CPs (Communication providers - e.g. BT).
Is this wire after the main termination box or before? (the box may or may not have a BT logo on it but should look something like this: https://www.britishtelephones.com/nte5.htm) If it's after that box can probably get anyone to do it.

Fair point this. If it's available, you may as well just bit the bullet and upgrade to fire to the property with a full new wire.

About a year ago a storm brought down all the BT lines serving my house and about 10 of my neighbours from a pole in the middle of our back gardens. To date nobody has bothered to have a line reinstated.
