Ouch!

Do you have a minor injury unit near you (rather than a full on A&E)?

They could probably strap it up and you'd be fine for riding.

Or use a chisel and make yourself a fashionable necklace!

Get that chair sorted out while you're at it.

I did the same a couple of years ago. Went to A&E where the nurse said it was probably dislocated but theyd xray to be sure. Had xray, shortly after I'm called in by the doctor who takes one look and says "well that's dislocated isn't it? If your strong I can pop it back in now but it will hurt quite a bit whilst I'm doing it but will be fine once done, or you can wait and get a local?"
Only one answer to that so told him to go for it. Much grinding and squelching later he pronounces the procedure complete. I was still in rather a lot of pain and my toe was nowhere near straight. "I dont think it is" says I
"oh, says doctor - it might be broken, we should get it x-rayed"
"it's been xrayed you nugget - surely that's how you diagnosed it??"
Nope, he haddnt bothered. We both looked at the xray and having seen holby city twice I was suitably qualified to diagnose a fairly obvious snapped toe!

In summary, get yourself up to a&e and make sure the doctor knows what he's up to!

As for your ride, it was 5 weeks before I could get a shoe on so I wouldn't hold out much hope for that

Dan,

Your photo and PBs above look exactly like mine when I kicked the door with my little toe one side of the frame and the bulk of the foot on the other.

Result Broken Toe.

Once you have done the A&E bit, keep it strapped close to the other toes and be careful putting socks on. I found when I thought it was getting better I started pulling socks on more confidently, the toe got snagged and then pulled out again.

Its at a far less jaunty angle now! Blacking at the joint but no real pain unless I stand on tip toe so I think I got away with it maybe (popped out/ popped back in? )

Felt very odd indeed to begin with. Think Ill stick it to the next one for now!
