I prefer to have a glass of red when home - beer for the pub, so not unlike the Beer thread does none have a recommendation for an online wine retailer?
cheers

Do you have anyone local, and/or where are you?

Berry Bros & Rudd
Caviste

Try your local wine shop; Majestic deliver; the major merchants; if you normally buy from a supermarket, they all do home delivery - but you might have to wait.
Use google or bing for online search; independent wine merchants.
Easy to find.

I get most of mine from Virgin Wines. They do a Winebank payment where you set up a DD each month and they add a percentage top up. You can have regular monthly orders or just do an "as and when" order. Same as last order, pre-made boxes or make your own and they do some decent special offers too.

Only issue I had was they sent the wrong bottle once (a white instead of red from the same vineyard) but they told me to keep it and just credited the cost of it back to me. Other than that, spot on every time.

Wine Society- For loads of interesting bottles - especially sub £15

Lay & Wheeler - Fine wine, predominantly the classics. Pricy but decent to deal with.

Woodwinters - Indie merchant with tons of good kit, lots of biodynamic/organic and a cracking Italian range. I have enjoyed many a bottle from these guys.

Naked Wines - wouldn't touch with a bargepole

2 local to me that do delivery that I’d highly recommend.

Nickolls and Perks, been around since the 1700’s and have a ridiculous selection of wine. They’re helpful if you phone up too. Note, their website is much better on a desktop than a tablet.

Loki in Birmingham. Also deliver and have a good selection.

Wine Society-

Always this
People are put off by the membership; don't be. It's £40, but £20 back on your first order
You'll save more than £20 per order if you compare with other suppliers

But if you go towards their own range, especially the Exhibition stuff, you'll be getting really excellent wine for not a lot of money

Having said that, I'm working through a Under £9 Spanish Box at the moment. Very good stuff for the price.

EDIT - Just realised they're not accepting new members at the moment...so ignore me

Oddly enough just after I posted this I checked Twitter and there is a local wine merchant nearby. They deliver too.
