As the title suggest, I'm after a recommendation for suppliers of prescription glasses, namely Oakleys. I've got a skinny face so they need to provide young people's glasses as well.

Second for RX sports. Husband has a couple of pairs from them, including transition oakleys and some ski inserts, and they have been very good. If you want to try frames then I think vision express stock them.

Shame RX don't have small frames in the ones I want.

I use Ciliary Blue (or Reglaze Glasses Direct as they are also known)  to put prescription lenses in my Oakleys, just had them replace my previous set last week,  cost around £70 for transitions lenses, it was £45 for the  previous standard clear prescription lenses .

Just find a set of frames that you like,  order them from the cheapest place instore or online , then send them off to Ciliary Blue.  Should get them back within a week. Outstanding service .

I managed to get a par of Oakley Racing Jackets for £90, sold the two sets of genuine Oakley lenses that came with them for £50, paid £45 for the clear prescription lenses . Prescription Oakleys for £85!

Same here with my Oakleys and Ciliary Blue.  The lenses are sufficiently differently shaped to my usual frames that its *weird* when I switch so I don't often wear them, but the service and price was good.

Due to the curved shape of the lens (ie, not the flat pane that most standard domestic glasses have), and the prescription, there was a slight distortion and weird feeling with the Ciliary Blue Oakleys, but I only noticed it for the first 15 minutes of wearing the glasses the very first time that I put them on. Now that I am used to them my eyes/brain just deal with it and I don't notice any weirdness. Being able to see clearly whilst riding is amazing!

I imagine that most shaped  prescription lenses would be the same, with the only real way to avoid the effect being with prescription inserts, which are a bit naff.

I also asked for vents to be added to my lenses, which I find really help with increased airflow to prevent fogging.

I've used RX Sport and found them very good.

Last time though, I went to a local optician (Stirling Optical) and the service was excellent, including the comfort of knowing the heights and IPD were spot on. Cost about £30 more than RX Sport but I recommend.

My severe astigmatism meant I couldn't have actual Oakley lenses, so had to go for RX Sport other lenses in my specs. Very good to deal with. I also tried to had a pair of Oakley flak jackets reglazed by ciliary blue but it didn't work as I wanted to still be able to change the lenses. They were very good about it all though and I eventually had a old pair of Oakley Valves reglazed clear for on the bike and they were great. Sadly they got stolen when my house was burgled!!

I also got my PD from specsavers by telling them I needed it for prescription safety glasses at work. A tip I picked up from someone else on here!!
