Need to replace my glasses as the coating is all marbled and they’re hard to see through now, lasted a good while though.

will get an up to date eye test as well. Sigh.

Need to get two pairs of glasses, one single vision with transitions and another varifocal.

What’s STW’s recommendation and experience with ordering glasses online ?

I did get some oakleys done years ago and they turned out really good, so I know it can work well. But that was a very long time ago.

Having had issues with varifocals that were 2mm out because the fitting was done in Covid times, I don't thinking I would want them done on line.  I can see why you might get single visions one ...

conversely, I got my prescription done in my CL optician, and then had varifocals made by Glasses Direct and they've been absolutely fine and about 20% of the price of my last high street pair

Happy with Pretavoir who just reglazed a pair for me.

Used “The Glasses Company” many times. Especially good prices on Oakley’s. Code SAVE10 for 10% off.

Also used “SelectSpecs” for cheap riding specs (Aero 8076 are Oakley cross link zero copies)

Similarly I've used spex4less for a couple of pairs of varifocals and I'm happier with them than the pair bought in boots face to face that cost a lot more.
