I use ViewRanger a lot.

Not free but not expensive - buy some credit and download tiles. Either 1:50000 or 1:25000 available.

Annoyingly, Bing maps doesn't give you the option of OS map layer on Android web browser, but there is an app called Bing Maps SDK by Pengan Zhou which let's you use them. It's a bit rough and ready and will munch your data pretty quick, but it works and is free.

I still sometimes use where's the path, but it used to go down to 1:25k OS, not anymore tho 😡 . Still useful for a more informed decision when deciding on descents or climbs when planning a circuit in an area you've never been before.

Oh, also look at Justgoride, when you click on map section (might be 'create a ride' or something) you can change the map to other formats incl satellite and to OS and it goes down to 1:25K.

Also: http://www.streetmap.co.uk

That said, I use Open Street Map a lot now.
https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=5/54.910/-3.432

Has every mtb trail on it round here.

On the phone, using ViewRanger OSM maps can also be cached off-line.
